A lot has changed over the past two months, but at the same time life feels very normal. Weirdly normal. I’m living in Switzerland, working for a couple I’ve only known for a few weeks, living in a hostel with a revolving door of strangers and grocery shopping with Google Translator in hand.

Some people might say this is because destiny put me where I belong. Maybe. Or I’ve just figured out how to adjust and adapt to the world around me, creating a life I really love. Either way…life’s been doing pretty good and this is what I’ve been doing + thinking lately…

…sweaty, smelly and exhausted from an impromptu trip to Zermatt to scope out the Matterhorn

…eating lots of Thai food, and really liking it…even more than Swiss fondue

…thankful for my little hostel nook with a big window, it’s about as roomy as my Forester and it’s perfect

…becoming oddly obsessed with Ryan Adams’ 1989 covers — I don’t even want TayTay anymore, Ryan has my heart

…living out of a backpack and really liking it, it’s so easy to get dressed with only 4 options!

…learning the perks of laundry without a dryer — hang drying indoors is much easier than I imagined

…spending hours + hours on my feet, trekking + running on trails in the Alps with happy legs

…getting annoyed with my hair — it’s just long enough to bounce when I run but it’s too short to pull back!

…loving the Swiss mountain huts >> Cabana d’Orny + Glecksteinhutte + Cabana de Plan Neve + Schonbielhutte

…slowly but surely learning the art of shoving a duvet into a duvet cover, I’m basically a magician

…outdoor climbing, for realz…even a bit of lead climbing, which has me excited for my return to Denver!

…working my way through some legit #realtalk that I’m sure will get overshared soon

…created a new “Adventure” page to share my travel stories, check it out >> Adventures

…exactly 18% fluent in French according to Duolingo but still can’t speak much more than “merci” and “oui”

…incredibly thankful for a lot of people in my life — close friends and new acquaintances — people make the world go round

…perfecting my abilities to bounce babies into happy giggles + drooling naps, so all my friends can have kids now, I’m an expert!

…incredibly excited for Paula to get married this coming weekend — it’s going to be stunning + gorgeous!

Oh, and it’s my birth month so I am taking full advantage of this excuse to be narcissistic by doing all the things that make me happy — eating cookies, getting up with the sun to discover new trails, taking impromptu trips to mountain huts and being lazy if that suits me.
